Apple is poised to transform its Health app by introducing artificial intelligence features. According to Bloomberg, the tech giant is working on “Project Mulberry”, an initiative that aims to integrate an AI agent into the app, which will act as a personal health coach.
The goal is to create a platform that provides personalized lifestyle advice based on users’ health data, offering educational videos created by expert doctors on a wide range of topics related to wellness. To achieve this, the Health app will receive data from the iPhone, Apple Watch, AirPods, and other third-party accessories. Additionally, the app will focus on food monitoring and, thanks to the iPhone’s camera, it will be able to give suggestions such as correcting sitting posture or during physical activity.
The new feature, internally known as Health+, is reportedly ready for debut with the upcoming iOS 19.4 update, which is expected to be released within a year. Meanwhile, the update of iOS 18.4, which will include the Italian language for Apple Intelligence, is still pending. To ensure the quality and accuracy of the content, Apple has hired expert doctors who will contribute to the training of the AI agent and the creation of educational videos. The company is also planning to open a studio near Oakland, California, where the content will be filmed, and is on the search for a “prominent medical personality” to become the face of Health+.
