Anche i discorsi di ringraziamento, che negli ultimi anni erano stati teatro di pesanti attacchi alla politica, sono rimasti piuttosto anestetizzati, con vaghi riferimenti all’unità, alla compassione e al volemossebene (il creatore e protagonista di Adolescence Stephen Graham ha citato Bob Marley dopo il suo premio come miglior attore in una miniserie: “One Love”). A riportare un po’ di realtà nella sale, alcune piccole spillette indossate però da nomi del calibro di Ariana Grande, Mark Ruffalo e Jean Smart (quest’ultima vincitrice come miglior attrice in Hacks per il terzo anno di fila): recitavano “Be Good” e “ICE Out”, in riferimento agli abusi che la milizia anti-immigrazione ICE sta compiendo negli Stati Uniti, non da ultimo l’uccisione a sangue freddo della 37enne Renee Nicole Good.
Non c’è da biasimare troppo il gotha di Hollywood, in ogni caso: da anni si discute sull’opportunità che celebrità vestite in abiti milionari si spertichino in appelli politici e umanitari durante serate innaffiate di champagne. Forse è ancor più difficile quando, tra aggressioni a stati sovrani, invasioni della Groenlandia, ritiro da qualsiasi impegno ambientale e altre discrasie varie, il mondo sembra proprio non avere più senso. E allora il senso – o una sana evasione da esso – si cerca nei film, nelle serie, nell’intrattenimento. Eppure rimane sempre lo scarto nei confronti di qualcosa che là fuori non funziona e a cui assistiamo sempre più impotenti, impauriti, attoniti.
